special date

Steve and Greta are on a date.

This is something we try to do as often as possible (meaning money and time and the ability to walk/drive without Vicodin re: kidney stones and frozen back spasms)

Tonight they have gone to a Japanese restaurant. This is something they have been planning on forever, it seems, and I hope they have a blast. They share a love of all things Japanese, from video games, movies like Totoro, anime, pop culture, Godzilla and his pals, music, design, and gross rubbery "sushi" from Kroger in the form of vegetable california rolls.

Steve and her deserve to get out of here, (we all do!!!) it is just a mad house of pent up energy and resentment and crying and fussing and time dragging by. WE NEED A VEHICLE OH GOD WE NEED A VEHICLE!

so help me we will never stay home again when we get one. Never. It is gonna be parks museums nature centers libraries play dates travel shopping until the tires shoot right off. Its gonna be "good morning! grab your shoesies, bagels are in the front seat! Lets go!" oh I cannot wait

Mickey's upcoming date with one parent is going to be to a magic store near us. He wants to do magic tricks and frankly, who can blame him?! I hope it is simultaneously better than Toys R Us and yet not more expensive. Love the little mom and pop stores in this town SO much.

Casey's upcoming date is still up in the air. He gets a big thrill out of serving-him-self, so maybe a trip to the bulk store to pick little treats himself or something athletic like gymnastics at Burger King playscape? Who knows. Maybe some little crafty thing, whatever that means.

Charlie gets special date all the time because when I run to the store I usually bring him, haha.

Home with just boys is sort of quiet right now, which is so weird because all day they are the ones who fuss and scream and fight. Oh wait. Doesnt that mean that something verrrry bad is going on while I type? Better go.....
